Group holidays in Normandy: planning a stay for 20 to 49 guests near Rouen

Bringing relatives, friends or colleagues together is easier when you choose the accommodation around the group’s needs. In Normandy, a self-catering holiday home — a gîte — lets you share meals and time together while keeping separate bedrooms and living spaces.

Les Gîtes de Flaubert offers five independent holiday homes in Morville-le-Héron, around 25 minutes from Rouen, with configurations for 20, 24, 25 or up to 49 overnight guests. This guide explains what to compare and how to organise your stay.

Choose the right accommodation for your group

  • 20 guests: Le Flaubert and Le Bovary together, with eight bedrooms.
  • 24 guests: Les Dépendances combines Le Flaubert, Le Bovary and Emma, with nine bedrooms.
  • 25 guests: La Cour combines La Charretterie and Le Gustave, with eight bedrooms. Both houses are fully air-conditioned.
  • 49 guests: book all five holiday homes, with 17 bedrooms across the estate.

These figures describe sleeping capacity, not automatically the number permitted at a reception or seated meal. Tell us about day visitors, meal arrangements and any planned event before booking. Booking some cottages does not give exclusive use of the whole estate.

Compare the accommodation configurations or explore the whole estate for larger groups.

Why choose self-catering accommodation?

A gîte can give your group more flexibility over meals and daily plans. Equipped kitchens, living areas and outdoor spaces help everyone spend time together. Several separate cottages can also suit different generations or families who appreciate having their own space.

Before confirming, compare the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, bed arrangements, the size of the dining space and the facilities included in your particular booking. Sleeping places do not mean individual bedrooms. If your group has accessibility requirements, ask about the precise layout in advance.

Family reunions, celebrations and group trips

A multi-generation family reunion, birthday weekend or holiday with friends calls for a balance between shared activities and free time. Discuss the occasion with us so that the accommodation and organisation can be agreed in advance.

Associations and car or motorcycle clubs can use the estate as a base for a group trip in Normandy. Parking is available on site; specific parking or vehicle requirements should be discussed before booking.

For a company retreat, distinguish accommodation from meeting facilities, catering and activities. Room layouts, equipment and any external services need to be confirmed for your event. Read about planning a residential seminar near Rouen.

Facilities: check what belongs to your cottage

Across the estate you will find billiards, Bonzini table football, pétanque, table tennis, darts, terraces and barbecues. Facilities vary between cottages and are used according to the accommodation booked.

The private two-person hot tub is in Emma only. It is not part of La Cour or the 20-guest option. Emma is included in Les Dépendances for 24 guests and in the whole-estate booking.

Plan outings around Rouen

Rouen’s cathedral, Gros-Horloge, museums and historic streets make a varied day out. Nearby possibilities include the half-timbered village of Lyons-la-Forêt, the Forest of Lyons and the château and gardens at Vascœuil.

Giverny, the Normandy coast and other regional sights can be considered according to your route and available time. Check distances, opening dates, group booking conditions and tickets directly with each attraction. Do not try to fit every part of Normandy into one day.

Explore nearby activities and places to visit. Local food can be part of the stay too: markets and producers offer opportunities to discover Normandy cheeses, apples and regional specialities.

Organise meals, budget and travel

  1. Agree your dates, number of nights and expected overnight guests.
  2. Allocate bedrooms, taking account of families, couples and individual needs.
  3. Set a shared budget and check what is included in the accommodation quote.
  4. Decide which meals you will cook and whether you want a separate catering quote.
  5. Plan transport, shopping and a manageable selection of outings.

Linen and end-of-stay cleaning are included in the accommodation offers described on our prices page. Tourist tax and external services are additional. Ask for the exact price for your dates and configuration; a per-person calculation is only meaningful when the number of guests and nights is clear.

For catering and activities, consult our local partners. Their services are not included by default and remain subject to availability and confirmation.
