Armada 2027 in Rouen: a countryside base for your Normandy group stay

Rouen’s Armada returns to the Seine quays on 17–27 June 2027. The gathering of tall ships and other vessels is an opportunity to plan a Normandy break with family, friends or a club.

The cottages and outdoor spaces at Les Gîtes de Flaubert.

Les Gîtes de Flaubert, in Morville-le-Héron in the Andelle valley, offers a countryside base outside the city. Plan each journey to Rouen around the event’s traffic, parking and access arrangements; normal journey estimates may not apply during the Armada.

Why stay in the countryside during the Armada?

Choose independent accommodation for a couple, a family or a larger group, with kitchens and living areas to enjoy together after visiting the quays. On-site parking and outdoor spaces allow you to return to a quieter setting after a busy day.

Stay together at Les Gîtes de Flaubert

In Morville-le-Héron, in the Andelle valley near Rouen, the estate offers up to 49 sleeping places in 17 bedrooms across five cottages, with 9 shower rooms and 9 toilets. Independent houses and shared living areas let you choose a layout that suits your group.

  • Les Dépendances: 20 guests in 8 bedrooms, or 24 in 9 bedrooms when Le Gîte d’Emma is included.
  • La Cour de Flaubert: 25 guests in 8 bedrooms, combining La Charretterie and Le Gustave.
  • The whole estate: up to 49 guests in 17 bedrooms.

Equipped kitchens make it possible to prepare meals during your stay. 49 sleeping places do not guarantee seating for 49 around one table or in one room. Discuss meals, shared spaces and bedroom allocation with Aurélia and Christophe before booking.

What to discover at Armada 2027

Ship visits, meeting crews and the atmosphere along the Seine are central to the event. The organiser announces free ship visits, subject to access arrangements. The programme, participating vessels and any concerts or family activities should be checked on the official Armada website.

Plan your days around the published programme, including any opportunity to see the ships on the river. Do not assume that every activity or vessel is accessible at every time. Check opening times and visitor guidance before leaving the cottages.

Enjoy the countryside after your day out

Depending on the cottages booked, your group can use billiards, Bonzini table football, table tennis, darts, pétanque, terraces, outdoor spaces and barbecues. Equipment is distributed across the estate. The private hot tub belongs exclusively to Le Gîte d’Emma and is available only when Emma is part of your booking.

Combine your event with a visit to Rouen, Lyons-la-Forêt or the Andelle valley. Plan travel to and from the venue in advance; traffic and event access arrangements can affect journey times.

A major event can make group accommodation harder to coordinate. Ask about your preferred dates early, without assuming availability until your booking is confirmed.
