Martagny Photo Festival: photography, countryside and a Normandy weekend

For photography enthusiasts, walking groups and visitors who enjoy culture outdoors, the Martagny Photo Festival is a reason to explore Normandy from a different angle. Combine a visit with time in the countryside and a stay at Les Gîtes de Flaubert.

A cultural outing in a green setting

The festival presents photography in outdoor exhibition spaces around the village. The 2026 edition ran from 13 June to 30 August and is now over. This guide does not announce dates for a new edition: check the official Martagny Photo Festival website for the next programme, dates and access arrangements before booking travel.

Exhibitions, photographer meetings and special activities depend on the edition. Leave time to enjoy the village and the setting as well as the photographs; choose suitable footwear and clothing for an outdoor visit.

Extend the outing with a stay at Les Gîtes de Flaubert

Our cottages in Morville-le-Héron suit couples, families, groups of friends, photography clubs and associations. Independent houses offer places to rest, while the living areas allow your group to exchange impressions and plan the following day.

Stay together at Les Gîtes de Flaubert

In Morville-le-Héron, in the Andelle valley near Rouen, the estate offers up to 49 sleeping places in 17 bedrooms across five cottages, with 9 shower rooms and 9 toilets. Independent houses and shared living areas let you choose a layout that suits your group.

  • Les Dépendances: 20 guests in 8 bedrooms, or 24 in 9 bedrooms when Le Gîte d’Emma is included.
  • La Cour de Flaubert: 25 guests in 8 bedrooms, combining La Charretterie and Le Gustave.
  • The whole estate: up to 49 guests in 17 bedrooms.

Equipped kitchens make it possible to prepare meals during your stay. 49 sleeping places do not guarantee seating for 49 around one table or in one room. Discuss meals, shared spaces and bedroom allocation with Aurélia and Christophe before booking.

Enjoy the countryside after your day out

Depending on the cottages booked, your group can use billiards, Bonzini table football, table tennis, darts, pétanque, terraces, outdoor spaces and barbecues. Equipment is distributed across the estate. The private hot tub belongs exclusively to Le Gîte d’Emma and is available only when Emma is part of your booking.

Combine your event with a visit to Rouen, Lyons-la-Forêt or the Andelle valley. Plan travel to and from the venue in advance; traffic and event access arrangements can affect journey times.

Discover the Andelle valley and its surroundings

A cultural weekend can also include the Château de Vascœuil, the timber-framed village of Lyons-la-Forêt, Mortemer Abbey and walks in the Forest of Lyons. Local markets and Normandy specialities can complete the programme; check dates and opening times for each stop.

Prepare your photography weekend

Confirm the festival dates first, then coordinate accommodation and travel. For a club or association, tell us the number of participants and preferred bedroom allocation; equipment and shared spaces depend on the cottages reserved.

Ask about availability for your Normandy stay. Aurélia and Christophe will help you find a configuration suited to your dates and group.
